Acupuncture is a part of the ancient Chinese school of healing. It views man as a unity of body, mind and soul, inseparable from nature and its rules.
A person’s health is dependent on the balance of the opposite forces of Yin and Yang, as well as on the free flow of Qi, the vital energy force. The main task is always to balance Yin and Yang and to ensure the free flow of Qi in order to prevent the disease, or to cure it if it has already broken out.
Qi, the vital energy, circulates throughout the body along specific energy pathways called meridians. Its flow can be influenced by stimulating specific points on the body’s surface. In acupuncture, the insertion of very fine needles at those points is used to restore or maintain the free flow of Qi and so ensure optimal health.
